Student Story – Asekenye Lydia Patricia

I am Ms. Asekenye Lydia Patricia, from Uganda.
I am Student at Maseno university- Kenya, pursuing a Masters of Science in Animal Science under the Capacity Building for Climate Resilient Food Systems in Africa (CaReFoAfrica) mobility scholarship.

I give gratitude to God almighty for this scholarship award and an appreciation to CaReFoAfrica to grant me this opportunity to advance my career.

My experiences at Maseno university
The people at Maseno university ie; academic staff and support staff are so hospitable, understanding and approachable this attribute in them gives us a great environment with a feeling of being home, thus a greater place to thrive in academically and socially.

I have had a great exposure to the strong academic foundation at Maseno through its well structured courses in Animal Science Major Animal Nutrition and I believe this will make me a well grounded animal nutritionist that will be able to create an impact to the lives of livestock farmers in Uganda(farmers).

I also had an experience in the supportiveness of the lecturers at Department of animal and fisheries sciences.

My expectations from CaReFoAfrica
I expect to have collaborative learning and networking through connecting with other scholars, researchers to exchange ideas.

I also expect to gain advanced knowledge and skills in Animal Nutrition, focusing on sustainable, affordable and environmentally friendly solutions so I can be a lead agent of transformation to my community.
