Student Story – Yaovi Marcel Edah

| Student Story – Yaovi Marcel Edah
My name is Yaovi Marcel Edah, and I am from Benin. I am privileged to pursue my Master’s degree in Animal Science at Maseno University, Kenya, in the School of Agriculture, Food Security and Environmental Sciences, through the CaReFoAfrica Scholarship.
Since arriving in Maseno, I have been warmly welcomed by the university Local Coordinator Dr. Caroline Wambui. The supportive environment, from the project team to the university staff, has made my transition smooth and enriching. The Academic Village Hostels provide a comfortable space for study, and the availability of familiar foods has eased my adaptation.
The program is significantly enhancing my academic journey. Engaging lectures, detailed course materials, and dedicated supervisors is deepening my understanding of Animal Science.
I look forward to leveraging this opportunity to build professional networks with the Maseno University community but also with the other fellows who share the same field focus, refine my research skills, and contribute to climate change mitigation through sustainable animal production practices. I am truly grateful to CaReFoAfrica for empowering me to be part of solutions for a better, resilient Africa.
